WHAT'S ON - THEATRE

NATIONAL THEATRE

  • December Thursday 2nd - 5th 2004
    The Kampala Amature Dramatic Society (KADS) will be in the theatre with a play Aladdin, the story of an Arab Prince in love, in the form of a pantomine
  • December Tuesday 7th 2004
    French Film Festival, with English Subtitles & French sub titles, entrance free.
  • Christimas Attraction 2004
    The Obsessions with a production Before Adam & Eve, with creative dances & music

COOPER THEATRE (Cooper Complex on Ben Kiwanuka Street)

  • December 2004
    Diamond Entertainment with their play Abamegganyi, which tackles the current religious conflicts and cults in the country. It also explores the under water mystrey.
  • January 2005
    Diamond Entertainment with two plays Akalaba, - about the death penalty and human rights & Enyonta - about abuse of office and corruption. They will be inter-changed. Actors include Ashraf Ssemwogerere, Kato Lubwama, & Bob Nsirikidde

BAT VALLEY THEATRE (Bombo Road)

  • First two weeks of December 2004
    Baligeya Nkoona - A joint cast between Bakayimbira Dramactors and Afri Talent staring Abbey Mukiibi, John Segawa, Mariam Ndagire, Charlse Ssenkubuge, Aloysius Matovu Joy and Andrew Benon Kibuuka. The play is about social responsibilities, humanity and friendship.
  • Christmas through January 2004
    Afri Talent will be staging their play Ensitaano, about the family values and how money can have an impact in society. The play is running on WBS TV every monday and is staring Abbey Mukiibi, John Segawa, Mariam Ndagire, Patrick Mujjuka and others.

PRIDE THEATRE (Namirember Road)

  • Christmas through January 2004
    Bakuntumye - The stage 'king of romance' Alloysius Matovu Joy has come up with another play which he wrote after his experience in London. More romance and love in London is expected to be in the play that will also be staring Charlse Ssenkubuge 'Siasa', Andrew Benon Kibuuka, Wyclife Luyombya, and Prossy Nassali Nabali.
